A picture often carries an unsuspected story

When Jim and I were living in Brooklyn, NY in the 1958, I wrote a story about a young woman who always had a red geranium blooming in her kitchen window  because, “It gives me courage.”

Years later on a drab and misty Irish morning,  when I saw this brave bloom on a pub window sill, I snapped it’s picture.  It has brightened my days ever since. e. schoettler
